Testimonials

We were a bit nervous about trying shibari, especially since we weren’t sure how it’d be with someone new. But Louis was super attentive and made us feel comfortable from the start. His assistant was great, giving my girlfriend helpful tips throughout the session. Louis really understood our hesitations and adjusted everything perfectly. Definitely one of the best experiences of our trip to Japan!” – Kate and Peter, USA

“Louis was a great teacher, very informed, thorough, and patient. He also did a great job of making us both feel comfortable! Would love to take more courses from him in the future when we visit Japan again.” Sarah and Ethan, Australia

“Louis is experienced, passionate and deeply knowledgeable about shibari and beyond. He brings a kind, clear and engaging teaching style that promotes learning of techniques, history, but most of all, physical and emotional safety. I would highly recommend Louis as a teacher for anyone interested in exploring this world.” Connor, USA

“Taking this course with Louis and Eri (the rope model he introduced) was a really nice experience. I was in the beginning a bit nervous, but that went away quickly because Louis and Eri are nice and have a relaxed vibe around them. The studio was beautiful and comfortable, and that helps also. The emailing before the course was nice and trustful. Louis explained everything really passionately, and that’s contagious. Can’t wait to learn more about Shibari by using the ropes on somebody or having somebody use the ropes on me. The combination of explaining and doing was, for me, perfect. It also made me more curious and want to experience more.” Lieke, Netherlands

For those who have mastered the basics, this intermediate Shibari workshop is designed for practitioners seeking to refine their technique, explore the nuances of rope dynamics, and deepen their experience with semi or full suspension.
Each session is fully customized, whether you’re looking to focus on a specific harness or suspension style, troubleshoot recurring issues in your practice, or gain a clearer understanding of the physics and safety principles behind static and dynamic suspensions.

・Top and pelvic harnesses for suspension
・Top harness adaptation to body morphology
・Discomfort management in suspension
・Load distribution and transfer in suspension
・Nerve safety, injury prevention and response
・Standard (3hrs) and extended (5hrs) courses are available. Special attention will be given to tension control and rope placement, two decisive factors where subtle adjustments, tailored to each model’s anatomy, flexibility, and pain threshold, can dramatically improve both the comfort and safety of a suspension.

Testimonials

”Louis and his assistant made the lesson feel easy going and enjoyable. Louis was professional and attentive. He accommodated our requests and met me where I was at in skill. My wife and I both really enjoyed the lessons.” – Émilie and Pascal, France

”I was fortunate to be able to take several instructional workshops with Louis during my time in Tokyo and I cannot speak highly enough on the quality of the experience. He reached out prior to our meetings to briefly discuss my experiences, level, interests, priorities and then tailored the workshops accordingly. He was very prepared and professional at every turn. The workshops were hands-on and he moved quickly through the practical harness and suspension tutorials I wanted to study, but never so fast to lose me and he took pains to explain why he was doing things in the order and manner that he was rather than just saying ‘do it this way’ and then leaving it at that. Nerves, placement, tightness, theory, alternatives, all of these things were broached throughout the 3 hour workshops. Anytime I needed to see something demonstrated again, he would happily oblige and I found his patience and thoughtful teaching style perfectly suited for the experience. He brought an incredible model to the workshop, someone knowledgeable and experienced, and I was able to easily communicate with her. I look forward to going back and practicing/studying more, and I cannot recommend Louis and the workshops more highly.” – Thomas, USA

Thank you for everything, the lesson was great, you were an amazing teacher. I can’t wait to practice the suspension harnesses again to really absorb them, as well as the square knot. I might come back later this year in summer, so if you’re available, I’d love to take another class! Your vision of ropes is very interesting. Thank you again for everything!Pierre, France
